The Leventis Foundation (Nigeria) Ltd/GTE is a charitable and non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable agricultural development and food system improvement through the training program the Foundation offers to youths and farmers in sustainable and modern vocational and entrepreneurial agriculture. The Foundations programs are in support of the Federal Government policy and efforts on Food Systems Development and Livelihood improvement and have been running since 1988.

The Foundation has established six agricultural training schools in the different agro-ecological zones of Nigeria, with ongoing proposals to establish additional schools. The schools are located in FCT, Osun, Ondo, Kaduna, Kano, and Gombe States. The Foundation’s mission is to train and support youth and farmers who choose to make a sustainable livelihood in agriculture. Each year, the foundation turns out an average of 700 agripreneurs. The training follows two-pronged strategies namely;

1) one-year on-campus intensive training in crop production, livestock production, enterprise development (to include economics of production, processing and value addition, marketing, and business plan development), and farm engineering (to include farm power and machinery, soil and water management, irrigation farming, crop processing, and storage) and 2) outreach program targeting the generality of practicing smallholder farmers. The LFN has trained more than 29, 000 farmers located in all six Staple Crop Processing Zones (SCPZ) in Nigeria (See website for more information: https://el-cruzero.com/lev).


Leventis Foundation Nigeria invites applications from enthusiastic, highly organized and result-oriented individuals for the following positions:


  1. Development & Strategy Officer (DSO).

The Development and Strategy Officer contributes significantly to the growth and sustainability of the foundation. The role focuses on identifying and determining creative solutions to improving the Foundation training program and operations, as well as fundraising and managing donor relations, among others. Of note, this role is responsible for managing the writing and submission of grant applications and reports, leading the organization’s annual fundraising and donor recognition, and carrying out the administration of the donor database and consortium management. The Development Officer works collaboratively across departments on grant activities while stewarding relationships with new and existing donors, and provides support to the Executive Director on recognizing major gift donors. This role has significant responsibility for overseeing complex projects and is accountable for achieving specific funding goals laid out in the strategic plan

Requirements for interested candidates:

  • A minimum of master’s degree in Business Administration/Social Sciences or related field, with a minimum of three years post qualification work experience.

Job Specifics

  • Writes and leads the development of proposals and reports, manages the submission and agreement processes
  • Works collaboratively across departments to compile the necessary information for applications and reports
  • Manages the grant proposal and reporting calendars, and tracks activities in the fundraising database and hard-copy filing system
  • Researches funding prospects and keeps an eye on grant and funding trends
  • Facilitate networking and partnerships to advance the foundation as well as promote the training programs of LFN schools
  • Contribute to business development and digital innovation
  • Facilitate the participation of ex-trainees in value chains of commodities through collaboration with strategic value chain initiatives
  • Working closely with the head of training to coordinate short courses for farmers.

2. Liaison & Communications Officer (One Position)

Leventis Foundation Nigeria invites applications for the post of Liaison & Communications Officer.

The LCO role focuses on the management and reporting of information and communications within the organization and with partner organizations as well as the public. The role also involves preparing, and posting content across communication channels as well as promoting the activities of the foundation. LCO prepares and delivers verbal communications, such as press conferences, interviews, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, and written communications, including press releases, reports, and social media updates, to colleagues, collaborators, the public, and other stakeholders.

Requirements for interested candidates:

  • Masters degree in Public Relations or Mass Communications or Journalism or related field, and a minimum of 3 years relevant job experience.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good presentation skills, particularly public speaking
  • Familiar with the various communication technologies available (includes understanding the different types of communication devices, software, and applications that can be used to communicate with others)
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

Job Specifics

  • Facilitate meetings and cooperation between LFN and other organizations
  • Oversee communications between LFN and other organizations as well as the public
  • Coordinating with internal departments to schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute materials such as agendas, minutes, and presentations
  • Manage further ex-trainees (LFN Agricultural training schools Alumni) engagement with the Foundation in coordination with DSO.
  • Coordinate media interviews for staff of the organization
  • Develop communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, reports, website and social media posts across platforms
  • Speech writing
  • Recording, transcribing and filing audio and video recordings of meetings or sessions
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders to arrange interviews with reporters from newspapers, magazines, radio, television, blogs, and other media outlets
  • Coordinates media presence at relevant LFN events (ranging from print media, TV and radio stations and social media engagement)
  • Coordinating with advertising agencies to develop print ads, commercials, and other promotional materials
  • Reviewing information to ensure that it is accurate and relevant to the intended audience

3. Position: Administrative Assistant (One Position)

Leventis Foundation Nigeria invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant.

Administrative Assistant (AA) duties and responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant (AA) will be responsible for interfacing with office visitors, responding to inquiries via phone calls, and face-to-face, receiving, and delivering mail, and assisting with maintaining and ordering office supplies.

Interested candidates should possess the following requirements:

  • a minimum of BSc or Higher National Diploma in Public Administration/Business Administration or a related field
  • Applicant should have a minimum of two years work experience. Relevant work experience with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) would be an added advantage.

4. Position: Trainer in Crop Production and Agroforestry (One Position)

Leventis Foundation Nigeria invites applications for the post of Trainer in Crop Production and Agroforestry


Job Requirements:

  • Applicants should possess a minimum of MSc in Agronomy/Crop production, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Applicants with BSc and HND respectively should have a minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Relevant work experience with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) would be an added advantage.


Trainer in Crop Production and Agroforestry duties and responsibilities

  • Teach/Train the students/trainees in theoretical and practical areas of crop production and agroforestry
  • Implement LFN training strategies in crop production and deliver on its objectives
  • Partake in crop production department curriculum review and development
  • Partake in day-to-day operations of the school crop farm
  • Supervise annual program of work in the department
  • Partake in crop production workshops, short courses, symposiums,s and seminars
  • Make input in planning, designing, and supervising the execution of departmental projects of the crop production department
  • Should be conversant with modern farming techniques
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of the annual budget of the crop department.
