The Leventis Foundation Nigeria (LFN) celebrated THREE DECADES OF SERVICE & ENHANCED LIVELIHOODS 30th of October to 1st of November, 2018. A stakeholders media briefing session was held at the LFN head office on June 6, 2018 to introduce the events marking the anniversary celebration. The anniversary logo was unveiled during the stakeholders media briefing by the Chairman of Board LFN, Alhaji Ahmed Mantey and the Executive Director, Dr. Hope Ovie Usieta

Thereafter, the celebration was marked in the last quarter of 2018 with a two-day exhibition by LFN ex-trainees and other agro products businesses, followed by a stakeholders symposium and gala night where four (4) winners of the agribusiness pitch competition were presented with One Million naira (N1,000,000.00) each as seed money.


Exhibitors were in three categories namely Trainees, Ex-trainees and the General Public. The Foundation recorded a good turnout of exhibitors.



The symposium which held on the 31st of October, 2018 at the LFN Head Office. Was themed LEVERAGING AGRICULTURE FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT.


In attendance were The Chairman of Leventis Group Nigeria; Alhaji Ahmed Mantey, A.P Leventis, A.I Leventis, Chairman Aplori; Phil Hall, Director Aplori; Prof. Manu, Director of Weppa farms; Mr. Kayode, Director of Leventis Museum, O.A.U.; Prof Adisa Ogunfolakan, The Etsu of Yaba, Staff members of LFN, Present Trainees, Ex-trainees and other invitees from partnering organizations.



Guest speakers from partnering organizations gave lectures on topics that examined issues pertinent to Nigerias agricultural development.

The Gala night which held at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja was the highlight of the event. Four Winners of the Agribusiness pitch competition were presented with their award of One Million Naira each by A.I. Leventis and the Chairman of Board LFN, Awards were also given to Governors of partnering states, longest serving board members, past chairmen of LFN and Mr. A.P. Leventis for their service and commitment to agricultural development in Nigeria. Dignitaries in attendance at the gala night included ambassadors/ representatives from five countries including USA, Sweden, Greece; EU commission, AU commission, One State Governor, one Deputy State Governor, four representatives of State governors, one Federal Minister, one Senior Assistant to the president of Nigeria, Heads of Parastatals & Agencies, Local and International Development Agencies.
