The Leventis Foundation (Nigeria) Ltd/GTE is a charitable and non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable agricultural development and food system improvement through the training program the Foundation offers to youths and farmers in sustainable and modern vocational and entrepreneurial agriculture. The Foundations programs are in support of the Federal Government policy and efforts on Food Systems Development and Livelihood improvement and have been running since 1988.
The Foundation has established six agricultural training schools in the different agro-ecological zones of Nigeria, with ongoing proposals to establish additional schools. The schools are located in FCT, Osun, Ondo, Kaduna, Kano, and Gombe States. The Foundation’s mission is to train and support youth and farmers who choose to make a sustainable livelihood in agriculture. Each year, the foundation turns out an average of 700 agripreneurs. The training follows two-pronged strategies namely;
1) one-year on-campus intensive training in crop production, livestock production, enterprise development (to include economics of production, processing and value addition, marketing, and business plan development), and farm engineering (to include farm power and machinery, soil and water management, irrigation farming, crop processing, and storage) and 2) outreach program targeting the generality of practicing smallholder farmers. - Development & Strategy Officer (DSO).
The Development and Strategy Officer contributes significantly to the growth and sustainability of the foundation. The role focuses on identifying and determining creative solutions to improving the Foundation training program and operations, as well as fundraising and managing donor relations, among others. Of note, this role is responsible for managing the writing and submission of grant applications and reports, leading the organization’s annual fundraising and donor recognition, and carrying out the administration of the donor database and consortium management. The Development Officer works collaboratively across departments on grant activities while stewarding relationships with new and existing donors, and provides support to the Executive Director on recognizing major gift donors. This role has significant responsibility for overseeing complex projects and is accountable for achieving specific funding goals laid out in the strategic plan

The LCO role focuses on the management and reporting of information and communications within the organization and with partner organizations as well as the public. The role also involves preparing, and posting content across communication channels as well as promoting the activities of the foundation. LCO prepares and delivers verbal communications, such as press conferences, interviews, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, and written communications, including press releases, reports, and social media updates, to colleagues, collaborators, the public, and other stakeholders.

- Masters degree in Public Relations or Mass Communications or Journalism or related field, and a minimum of 3 years relevant job experience.
