Leventis Foundation Nigeria and the National Youth Service Corps signed an MOU on empowering Corps Members through training in agribusiness in an MOU signing ceremony held on May 3rd, 2021 at the LFN/FCT Training School, Yaba.
Present at the event were the Leventis Chairman of Board, Alh. Ahmed Mantey, The Executive Director, Leventis Foundation Nig, Dr. Hope O. Usieta represented by the GM, Finance and Admin, Mr. Femi Oyedeji, NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, The Director, NYSC SAED, Dr. Hilary Nasamu, the General Managers of Leventis Foundation Nigeria and other Directors of NYSC.
LFN’s Chairman, Alh. Ahmed Mantey in his speech commended the NYSC for identifying the Foundation’s strength in youth development and empowerment and their interest in working with LFN to achieve a shared goal. He encouraged Corps Members who would become beneficiaries to take the training seriously because it is a means to entrepreneurship in a country with a high unemployment rate.
LFN’S Executive Director, Dr. Hope O. Usieta @oviehope represented by the GM, Finance and Admin, Mr. Femi Oyedeji expressed his delight in the LFN-NYSC partnership aimed at achieving an objective of reinvigorating self-reliance in the NYSC scheme. He further stated that at LFN, we take pride in being the foremost organization dedicated to building technical capacity for youths and farmers in the area of sustainable Agriculture.
The Director General of NYSC in his address thanked the LFN management for identifying with NYSC on youth empowerment, wealth creation and sustainable development. He advised corps members to use this platform to showcase their potentials as the scheme was created for corps members who have a passion for agriculture.
The NYSC delegation led by LFN’s management took a brief tour of the training facility focusing on the livestock section.
