LFN School Tumu, Gombe

The school is located in Tumu, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State and it is about 47km from Gombe town. The site was used by the former Agric Institute with very good space and a lot of training facilities. The MOU between the state government and Leventis Foundation was signed on 10th April 2007 and the school commenced operations on 27th April 2008.

The School is co-educational and has a travel distance of 28km from Gombe the State Capital and 588km from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. About 100 hectares arable land is available to the school for the cultivation of maize, millet, sorghum, rice, soybean, cowpea, suitable in a semi arid region with an annual rainfall of about 400 – 600mm, allowing for one cropping season, between June and October. Some form of irrigation activity is done by the school, particularly, in the cultivation of vegetable crops like spinach, pumpkins and capsicum sp. The School also keeps a sizeable number of livestock such as cattle, poultry, sheep and goats.
