The Leventis Foundation (Nigeria) Ltd/GTE is a charity with focus in promoting sustainable agricultural development and rural development through the training of youths and farmers in modern farming methods. The Foundations programs are in support of the Federal Government policy and efforts on Agricultural Development and Poverty Alleviation.
Presently, the Foundation has six Agricultural Training Schools in Nigeria (and plans to have more). The Schools are located in Osun, Ondo, Kaduna, Kano, Gombe States and the FCT. For over 30 years the Foundation has been offering quality practical training in small- and large-scale agriculture in broad technical areas such as:
- Crop production & Agroforestry
- Animal/Livestock Production
- Rural Enterprise Development
- Agricultural Engineering
To this end, there are vacancies in the above departments for candidates with proven practical agricultural knowledge and skills, and hands-on experience
1.1 Trainer in Crop Production and Agroforestry
Requirements
- MSc Agronomy/Crop production
- Minimum of 5 years (minimum of 8 & 10 Years for BSc and HND respectively) relevant job experience
Job Description
- Teach/Train the students/trainees in theoretical and practical areas of crop production and agroforestry
- Implement LFN training strategies in crop production and deliver on its objectives
- Partake in crop production department curriculum review and development
- Partake in day-to-day operations of the school crop farm
- Supervise annual program of work in the department
- Partake in crop production workshops, short courses, symposium and seminars
- Make input in planning, designing and supervising the execution of departmental projects of the crop production department
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of the annual budget of the crop department
2.1 Trainer in Animal/ Livestock Production

- MSc Animal/Livestock production
- Minimum of 5 years (minimum of 8 & 10 Years for BSc and HND respectively) relevant job experience

- Implement LFN training strategies in livestock department and deliver on its objectives
- Partake in livestock production departmental curriculum review and development
- Partake in the successful implementation of LFN livestock programs and activities

- Coordinate annual departmental work plan
- Partake in livestock production workshops, short courses, symposium and seminars
- Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the annual budget of the livestock department
2.2 Supervisor in Animal/ Livestock Production
Requirements
- MSc. / B.Agric. Animal/Livestock Production
- Minimum of 3 years (minimum 5 years for HND) relevant experience.
Job Description
- Assist Trainers and Assistant Trainers in class and field work.
- Make input and supervise review and development of livestock department training curriculum
- Monitor attendance and assess trainees course works to ensure all departmental practical works are thoroughly carried out
- Make inputs in the management of the organizations livestock infrastructures and enhancement strategies.
- Supervision of training activities of the livestock department
- Make input in planning, designing and supervision of livestock department programs
- Make input and oversee workshops, short-courses, symposia and seminars.
3.1 Trainer in Rural and Enterprise Development Department

- Make input in planning, designing and supervising the execution of departmental projects of the Rural Enterprise Development department

4.1 Trainer in Agricultural Engineering Department

- Partake in day-to-day operations of the schools engineering department

- Make input in planning, designing and supervising the execution of departmental projects of the Agricultural Engineering department

4.2 Supervisor in Agricultural Engineering Department
Requirements
- BSc. / B.Agric (Agic. Engineering)
- Minimum of 3 years (minimum 5 years for HND) relevant experience.
Job Description
- Assist Trainers and Assistant Trainers in class and field programs
- Make input and supervise review and development of training curriculum
- Assists Trainers and Assistant Trainers to ensure all Agric. Engineering departmental practical are thoroughly carried out by the Trainees
- Assist in the coordination of all training activities of the department
- Assist in planning, designing and supervision of Agric. Engineering departmental programs.
- Assists and oversee workshops, short-courses, symposia and seminars in the Agric. Engineering department.
5.1 Feed Mill Operator
Requirements
- HND Animal Nutrition or relevant qualification.
- Have minimum of 5 years in feed mill operations
- Must be very conversant with machine operations for livestock feed production.
- Must be vast in feed formulation and compounding of rations for various classes of livestock, including fishery
Job Description
- Responsible for sourcing of feed ingredients
- Responsible for the technical operation of the feed mill machines
- Responsible for ration formulation in feed production for all classes of livestock
- Coordinate operations within the feed mill
NOTE
- Ability to speak local language where the schools are located will be an added advantage for the Trainers and Supervisors.
- Computer literacy is a must.
