LFN AGRICULTURAL TRAINING SCHOOL, DOGON DAWA, KADUNA STATE
Between 1987 and 1998, this was the only Leventis Foundation Agricultural School in the northern part of the country while Ilesa school represented the southern region. LFN Taining School Dogon Dawa is located 75km west of Zaria on the old Birni-Gwari Road, about 210km from Abuja and 65km from Kaduna airport. The School has about 150 hectares of farmland and in a predominantly sub-humid guinea savannah region between 710 and 750m above sea level. The annual rainfall varies between 800 and 1200mm allowing for a mono-modal rain fed cropping season from May to October. The dominant crops include; sorghum, millet, maize, popcorn, capsicum sp, rice, groundnut, soybean and cowpea. The School also boasts of several classes of livestock like cattle, poultry, fishery, sheep and goats.
The School is co-educational and has since entered into collaboration with Kaduna State Government.
